The Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival has announced international and Indian artists for its upcoming edition, held between November 23rd and 26th at the city’s Polo Grounds. The first phase of the lineup announcement includes pop artist HRVY, U.K. DJ-producer Jonas Blue, Shillong troubadour Lou Majaw, Assamese pop star Papon, Portuguese rock band Hybrid Theory (a tribute act for Linkin Park) and more.

Also on the lineup are DJ-producer and music curator Nikhil Chinapa and Meghalaya’s top independent artists including R&B/soul singer-songwriter Jessie Lyngdoh, hip-hop artists like Meba Ofilia and the duo Dappest x adL, rock artists like Street Stories, Fame the Band, Summersalt and experimental folk act Da Minot.

Presented by Meghalaya Tourism, the pandemic had somewhat subdued Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival’s stride, but they returned with a formidable lineup for last year’s edition. K-pop group PIXY, Thailand pop act PYRA, rock band Dosser’s Urge and more were on the bill. Organizers and promoters Rockski group’s founder Jason Manners says in a statement, “With this year’s edition, we are raising the bar in terms of lineup which would add to the quality of live entertainment in Shillong. We are also looking to venture into the South East Asian Market with our pre-gigs happening in Thailand and Malaysia. We have a few plans for our young artists from Shillong.”

The first wave announcement also went up with the promise of more heavyweight names expected. “We expect four more international names in rock, K-Pop, hip hop and indie to be confirmed in the near future and a whole bunch of local names,” the festival stated on Instagram.

Tickets for Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival are currently priced at ₹ 2,999 for a four-day general admission pass, with day passes selling for ₹ 899 in general admission and ₹ 5,000 for VIP passes for each day.
