The Humans of Beatoven.ai program, launched by the tech start-up, is seeking new instrumentalists, producers and vocalists to expand their catalog
Artificial intelligence has steadily (and concerningly, for some) made its way into the arts, content and several other fields, including music. In February 2021, with the launch of Beatoven.ai, a new tool emerged to let video, podcast and content creators find royalty-free and easy-to-license, exclusive music.
Started by Mansoor Rahimat Khan and Bengaluru-based chief tech officer Siddharth Bhardwaj, they raised $55,000 in seed funding in May 2021. In March last year, the company made more in-roads globally and raised $1 million through Redstart Labs, a subsidiary of Info Edge and UK-based Entrepreneur First.
In addition to building a team, the music and tech start-up has now started the Humans of Beatoven.ai program, which has an artist fund worth $50,000 that will go into finding and partnering with musicians. Artists can mail or sign up to submit their music loops to be vetted by Beatoven.ai. A press release adds, “Through the program, Beatoven.ai aims to significantly expand its catalog. Artists partnering with Beatoven.ai are thoroughly vetted before they start submitting high-quality music samples. Indie artists can look forward to being a part of exclusive events and brand campaigns too.”
The Humans of Beatoven.ai fund comes in addition to $30,000 that the company is said to have spent sourcing music so far, working with the likes of Bengaluru-based rock band Parvaaz’s frontman Khalid Ahamed, sitarist Chhote Rahimat Khan (co-founder Mansoor’s father), sitarist-composer Asad Khan, producer Brij Dalvi aka Three Oscillators, guitarist-composer Tamish Pulappadi and several more. The release adds, “Artists not only get creative control and expressive assignments, the operational aspects of collaboration are based on transparency, respect, and mutual benefits.”
Beatoven.ai is a subscription-based program with three different subscription plans, $20/ month, $40/ month, and $100/month, catering to individual content creators, agencies, and production houses.
