Metal outfit streamed impromptu performance live on Periscope
Ice-T and Body Count marked their live debut on Periscope with a viciously faithful and spur-of-the-moment cover of Slayer’s “Raining Blood.”
The video was streamed live last June 29th, opening with the band sitting around the studio, pondering what song to play when Ice-T casually suggests the thrash outfit’s 1986 classic.
Body Count launched into the song’s menacing intro while Ice-T sauntered around the room. He unleashed a diabolical growl that matched the heavy cacophony behind him. By the end he was air-guitaring along with the indelible “Raining Blood” riff.
Body Count are reportedly in the studio working on a new album that will see release in 2017. It will mark the band’s first since 2014’s Manslaughter.
Ice-T is also set to headline the upcoming Art of Rap Festival Tour alongside Public Enemy, Naughty By Nature, Mobb Deep, EPMD, the Sugarhill Gang and Kurtis Blow. The trek begins July 16th in Dallas and wraps August 6th in Detroit.
