According to a data pull conducted over the weekend by social media giant Twitter, the excitement around pop icons BTS’ new record Proof is one of the most significant happenings on the website in 2022.

The most tweeted time was from 9.30 am to 10.30 am IST, right when Proof dropped, with three million tweets per hour, globally.

India was one of the strongest voices in the conversation, coming in at Number Five on the list of countries that tweeted the most about #BTS_Proof, preceded only by South Korea, U.S.A., Indonesia and Philippines.

This is not the first time India has made a mark in the conversation around the pop titans on Twitter – in 2021, BTS emerged as the most tweeted about music artist in India with four out of the five most tweeted-about songs of the year in the country. Indian audiences especially expressed their love for the group’s mega-hit single, “Butter.”

Additionally, as of December 2021, India is the ninth country in the world to be tweeting the most about K-pop in general.

BTS’ anthology album Proof comprises a total of 48 tracks spread across three CDs and dropped on June 10th, 2022, along with a video for its lead single, “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment).” According to South Korea’s Hanteo Chart, the band sold over 2.15 million copies of the album on the day of its release alone. Proof also hit Number One on iTunes in over 65 regions, while “Yet To Come” clocked in over 97 Number Ones across the world.
