India International Music Week 2025 takes place in Goa in February, as a trade conference and showcase festival.
A new player enters the Indian music conference space, with the announcement of India International Music Week (IIMW) announced as a five-day event in Goa in February 2025.
Unveiled by the founder company India Music Exchange at the Eurosonic Nooderslag (ESNS) presently underway in Groningen in the Netherlands, conference and showcase festival is intended as a way to bring more artists, event promoters, labels, industry trailblazers, and music enthusiasts alike to India.
A press release for the event states, “IIMW is committed to a pioneering spirit of encouraging and facilitating international trade to shape how the world interacts with the Indian music industry while defining the position and journey of international artists and music in India and the Indian Sub-continent.”
The release goes adds that the focus of IIMW will be on emerging artists and talent. The event will also see “live performances across multiple stages by diverse artists from around the world and India.” In addition to the performances, one of the mainstays of any music conference will also be held – panel discussions on market trends, workshops, artist residencies, mixers and pitch sessions, among other elements. IIMW also promises that their event will include “music production residencies and regional tours for participating professionals, artists and members.”
Within the next month alone, three more music conferences are setting up in different parts of India, at different scales to serve audiences ranging from international promoters to indie artists. The fourth edition of Asia Music Summit Takes place in Kohima from February 1st to 3rd, while new multi-day events like Rise//Del (February 7th and 8th) and Deccan Alternative Music Conference (February 9th and 10th) will take place in New Delhi and Bengaluru, respectively
