India Rock Weekend: Day 1
Indus Creed & Blakc, April 6th, Blue Frog, Mumbai
Five-member grunge rock band Blakc from Mumbai, who opened for Indus Creed, set the mood for the Indian Rock Weekend with their high-energy riffs and powerful guitar solos. Claiming that they are best experienced at a live performance, Blakc lived up to their statement and fueled the audience into a crazy head-banging mob for over an hour, managing to stir up a mosh pit before leaving the stage.Â

Indus Creed had a rather relaxed beginning, starting things off with their track “Bulletproof”. Changing the vibe of the evening wasn’t easy and the audience, which had just been a part of some frenzied moshing, took time to warm up. But soon enough, Indus Creed brought about a nostalgia rush, which had the audience singing word for word to gig essentials like “Rock n Roll Renegade,” “Trapped” and “Pretty Child”. For some newcomers at the gig, watching drummer Jai Row Kavi fit right in demonstrated how easily the  rock band had absorbed a musician who was almost a generation ahead of them musically. To finish things Indus Creed left the audience on a high with their classic track “Top of the Rock”.
