The Ska Vengers

It’s no surprise that reggae troublemakers the Ska Vengers have picked up plenty of fans in Europe, but in April, they snagged a slot at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Brisbane in Australia. Things are only about to level up from there, considering they head to Alchemy Festival in London and then to the WOMAD festival in Caceres, Spain this month.

Parekh & Singh

The Kolkata dream pop duo made their international debut last year, after the successful re-release of their debut album Ocean via U.K.Peacefrog, landing on British shores for a few festival and club shows. With their second album being readied, we can imagine there’s bigger appearances in store.

Nikhil D’Souza

Fresh off getting signed to East West Records (owned by Warner Music U.K.) and releasing three solid singles which introduced him to newer audiences, D’Souza often shuttles between Mumbai and London, and performs regularly in both parts of the world. Coming up in May are Live at Leeds Festival, The Great Escape in Brighton and a club show in London.

Shadow and Light

After the release of their third album Sabar in March, the fusion duo comprising Anindo Bose and Pavithra Chari set their sights on the U.S., embarking on a five-week run of shows that took them from Boston to New York to Chicago and performing with the Berklee Indian Ensemble. They wrapped up in early May with shows in Seattle.

Demonic Resurrection

They may have already played their final show in India, but Mumbai extreme metallers Demonic Resurrection’s final tour actually takes place in the U.K. Gathering momentum ever since they were signed to Candlelight Records in 2010 for albums such as The Return to Darkness and The Demon King, D.R. will perform in 10 cities.

Gutslit

Most bands prefer the U.K., Europe and North America for summer, so it’s no surprise that Mumbai brutal death metal band Gutslit have plotted their Asia tour later in the year, when the climate’s just about bearable. Between September and October, they head out to 11 countries, including Vietnam, South Korea and Japan.

Skyharbor

Now that all visa and work permit issues stay sorted for a while, prog rock/metal band Skyharbor are going from strength to strength. After wrapping up their tour supporting American prog band The Contortionist, they’re heading out to seven cities through May, joining Japanese ”˜Kawaii’ metal biggies Babymetal.
