New York-Origin Platform Indo Warehouse Announces India Tour

Teaming up with the mainstay for electronic music in India, Sunburn, founder artists like Kahani and Kunal Merchant will perform across 10 cities

Earlier this year, New York-origin platform andIndo Warehouse – which focuses on South Asian music and culture and have hosted shows in the U.S., London and Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) – indicated that they were bring their sound to Indian shores.

Now, the founders Kahani aka Arman Gupta and Kunal Merchant have teamed up with music festival Sunburn to trek across 10 cities starting with Goa-headquartered Sunburn on December 31st, followed by shows in Bengaluru (January 7th), Pune (January 12th), Ahmedabad (January 13th), Indore (January 15th), New Delhi and Chandigarh (January 19th and 20th, respectively) and more. A big test of their draw will come on January 25th, when Indo Warehouse sets up at the Dome, NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai, followed by shows in Kolkata (January 26th) and Hyderabad on January 28th.

Artists performing starting from the Sunburn Festival set include Kahani and Kunal Merchant, plus DJ-producers such as Areublue, Ethyr, Payal Jay and Anvaya.

It marks an important start to the year for Indo Warehouse, who spent 2022 and 2023 establishing themselves in the U.S. with sold-out shows in the East and West coast, plus releasing the compilation Year One and appearing on producer-DJ Diplo’s radio show, Diplo’s Revolution, on Sirius XM in the U.S.

Co-founder Kahani says they’ve been waiting for their arrival in India for a long time. He adds in a statement, “Being brought up on the other side of the world, our unique views of culture help us craft experiences that are one of one. With India’s support, we can define a sound that will open doors for South Asian artists around the world.” Merchant adds, “Ten incredible moments to dance with our people, performing music that is so deeply rooted in our culture, and connecting with an incredibly seasoned electronic music community. Massive thanks to Sunburn for believing in our vision and presenting this tour with so much love.”

Sunburn Festival’s CEO Karan Singh says in a statement about their association, “Indo Warehouse is known to push the creative boundaries of electronic music and brings a sense of community and connection with their live performances. This massive 10-city maiden tour across India promises to be a one-of-its-kind spectacle, one that will showcase the depth of South Asian culture, music, and rhythm within the global language of house and techno.”
