The quintet's latest single features on their fourth EP ‘Guess Who’
Super rookie group ITZY channel ferocity and charisma in their latest single, “Mafia In The Morning.” Inspired by the popular game ‘Mafia,’ the record sees the group experiment with darker themes as they sing about secretly stealing someone’s heart.
Adding on to ITZY’s iconic musical identity, “Mafia In The Morning” offers listeners an addictive dance-trap composition, heightening the track’s core concepts of ambiguity and suspense. Produced by JYP Entertainment’s founder, J.Y. Park, alongside South Korean songwriters Danke and Kass and composer Lee Hae-sol, the track’s transfixing chorus sees the group explore various new vocal styles to match the trippy synth of the single.
The music video opens with members reinforcing the mafia’s ability to camouflage in its surroundings as they effortlessly blend amongst a sea of sharply dressed mannequins, singing, “Guess who loves you/ It’s me, me/ Do I show you/ No, It’s a no.” The group then moves on to perform their powerful, synchronized choreography in various sets ranging from a quaint floral greenhouse to the quiet streets in a small town.
Guess Who, the quintet’s fourth EP comes just a month after “Trust Me (MIDZY),” a heartfelt single dedicated to their fans. The record comprises six brand new tracks– “Sorry Not Sorry,” “Kidding Me,” “Wild Wild West,” “Shoot,” “Mafia In The Morning” and “Tennis (0:00).”
