Mumbai jam band Something Relevant

For the inaugural edition of the Jadhavgadh Music Festival, an 18th century fort in Pune will transform into a festival site that will host two days of fantastic music. The lineup for the festival includes Mumbai jam band Something Relevant featuring singer-songwriter Rachel Varghese,  Akshay Deodhar [who also plays in alt rock band Spook], singer Sonam Kalra and the Sufi Gospel Project, Glasgow-based fusion pianist Utsav Lal and two cover acts including the Beatles Tribute Band from Mumbai and Applied For from Delhi. 

Some of Mumbai’s well-known musicians including drummer and vocalist Sidd Coutto, guitarist Aviv Pereira  of alt rock band Split, bassist Johan Pais  of pop rock band, Tough on Tobacco and Sanju Aguiar of death metal band Devoid are part of the Beatles Tribute Band and Delhi classic rock band Applied For comprises a set of talented musicians who hold day jobs as investment bankers and heads of companies.

Proceeds from the festival will go to The Genesis Foundation [who also host the Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival], who will help fund treatment for 11 children suffering from critical ailments.

The Jadhavgadh Music Festival by Genesis Foundation and Jack Daniel’s takes place at Fort Jadhav Gadh Hotel, Pune on September 21st and 22nd, 2013. Donor cards available for Rs 3,500 per person and Rs 5,500 for couples here. Event details here.
