Jaipur’s Bad Trip Symphony Explore the ‘Show After The Show’ on Mind-Bending Album
The third album from the rapper-producer duo includes features by rappers such as Gravity, Satyum, Shaikhspeare, Twinq and more

Creating a thematic journey into all the situations, experiences and conversations that occur after a show, Jaipur hip-hop duo Bad Trip Symphony are out with their diverse new 20-track album Show After The Show. The duo – comprising Rbbt aka Shivam Sharma and BadLuck Lakshay Singh – say the record draws from how they balance out “regular life jobs with music and the glam life.”
Sonically, Bad Trip Symphony have been known to dabble in a bit of rock, metal and fusion in their hip-hop, but Show After The Show stirs the multi-genre pot to bring in EDM on “Wings for The Life,” synthwave on “Mona Lisa” and eerie banger hip-hop on “Purge,” which remains among the duo’s favorite tracks on the album. Sharma says,” “I wanted to bring mosh and a chaotic feeling to the song, that’s why I picked up sounds from drum and bass to make it sound super energetic and dark.”
The duo say that their 2021 EP The Evolution worked as a foundation for the new album. The two whittled down the tracklist from 25 to 20, with plans to put out the remaining five as bonus material. “We heard a lot of different styles of music which inspired us over two years; a lot of old and new artists inspired us a lot. So, it’s like we wanted to try everything with no barriers of genre or length of the album,” the duo say.
The album understandably gets increasingly somber and swerves into darker, melancholic territory with songs like “Mona Lisa” featuring Sahxb and the noisy “Raavn” with Mumbai rapper Shaikhspeare and Comikal. Elsewhere, Shaikhspeare’s Bombay Lokal crew-mate Gravity joins in on the slick “Know Your Murderer.” Bad Trip Symphony says they had Gravity work on the track nearly three years ago. “We were just waiting for the perfect time and product. He’s one of the best recording artists we’ve worked with so far,” the duo add. Emerging rappers like Twinq (“Snowflake”) and Jitansh! also appear on the well-rounded album.
They also enlisted fellow Jaipur artist Arjan Singh for “Khafa,” who adds a powerful, emotive hook to the track. “We hang out a lot and I guess I’m his biggest fan; he is so humble, always learning and always inspired to go out of the box,” Sharma says.
Bad Trip Symphony are already working on their next album OCB. “The sounds have been decided. It’s going to have a much simpler approach than Show After The Show,” the duo say.
