A day ahead of Pakistani pop rock band, Jal’s album launch show, the concert venue in Mumbai, Hard Rock Cafe announced its cancellation. Hard Rock Cafe issued a press release stating: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the JAL performance at Hard Rock Café Mumbai has been cancelled. We understand that it was an eagerly awaited performance and we deeply regret the inconvenience caused. Our patrons who purchased online tickets in advance can avail it as per the refund policy.” The band was slated to perform in Mumbai on April 3rd and in Delhi (at Hard Rock Cafe) on April 5th. However, the Delhi gig, as of now, remains on schedule.

While the venue offered no explanation as to why the gig in Mumbai was called off, members of Jal, who are currently in Mumbai, were looking forward to performing in the city to promote their third album, Pyaas. Lead vocalist and one half of the pop rock duo, Goher Mumtaz, said about the show: “We plan to perform songs from our latest album as well as some of the old hits. We will also premiere our new video ”˜Dil Harri’ at the show. In fact, the video was shot in Mumbai,” he had said.  Last year, Jal’s concert in Pune was called off following protest from right-wing activists of Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS).
