‘Watch the Throne’ is heavily rumored to hit digital stores on Monday
Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s collaborative album Watch the Throne may be coming out this weekend. The record, which wasoriginally promised as a January release, is heavily rumored to be coming out on July 4th based on a report published by The Source earlier this month. If this is indeed the case, the rappers clearly intend for the album to be a surprise.According to AllHipHop.com, the initial release of the set is likely to be digital-only in order to avoid leaks.

In an interview on yesterday’s episode of MTV’s Rap Fix Live, CyHi the Prynce, an artist from West’s G.O.O.D. Music roster, revealed that Watch the Throne was “ready to go.” “Right now, all the music and everything is done,” the rapper said. “But you know my guy ”” we over here with [Kanye], so ‘Ye is gonna add his last little pizzazz, and it’s going to be ready for you guys soon.”

CyHi declined to provide more details, noting that he is not privy to all of his bosses’ plans. “You never know what they gonna do and how they gonna put it out,” he said. “They might put it out yesterday.”
UPDATE: VH1 is reporting that the album will not be released on Monday, according to “sources close to Jay-Z’s management team.”
