Artists Kavya and Hanita Bhambri are also on the bill at the music, tech and film festival
After last year’s virtual edition, South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas returns as a hybrid festival next month. Set to include online as well as in-person viewing, the 2022 showcase will also feature performances from Indian artists.
Set to take their sound to SXSW include Mumbai-based singer-producer Ambika Nayak aka Kayan and Chennai producer-singer and guitarist JBABE aka Josh Fernandez (from indie rock band The F16s). Both Nayak and Fernandez also performed as part of 2021’s virtual edition. Joining Kayan and JBABE at the festival are the likes of New Delhi artists Tarana Marwah aka Komorebi, Kavya Trehan (who goes by her first name) and Hanita Bhambri.
In a social media post, Kayan said, “So stoked to finally announce that I’ve been selected to perform at SXSW Austin, Texas! One of the most diverse festivals I’ve been following for a while, looking forward to taking Kayan vibes out thereeeee (sic).” Komorebi also took to social media, she said, “It’s official! Your girls (sic) playing SXSW 2022.”
Register to attend SXSW here. Also, keep up with JBABE, Kayan, Komorebi, Kavya and Hanita Bhambri’s schedules at the festival.
