The song is the American singer-songwriter’s follow-up to this year’s ‘I Guess I Just Feel Like’
Currently on a mammoth North America tour, American singer-songwriter John Mayer has just dropped a brand new idyllic track titled “Carry Me Away.”
The new song is his second release of 2019, after the acoustic ballad “I Guess I Just Feel Like.” “Carry Me Away” also has an acoustic flow along with Mayer’s clever lyrics, controlled dynamics and a hooky keyboard part. The track’s accompanying video sees Mayer along with his band and dog recording the song at a studio.
Mayer said via Instagram, “I didn’t see it coming that this tour would have so much life and energy in it, so when it was time for a two week break, I found myself wanting to create. My desires for vacation were simple: to live in shorts and a t-shirt and play with my dog in the sun and live a simple happy normal life, all while writing this song I had swirling around in my head.” He added, “I present to you ‘Carry Me Away,’ which was made with the same love you’ve sent my way on this run. I hope you enjoy this late summer postcard.”
