BTS‘ Jung Kook has set a release date for his highly-anticipated debut solo album, Golden. The LP will arrive on Nov. 3 featuring the previously released singles “Seven” with Latto and “3D” with Jack Harlow. Across 11 tracks, the singer will showcase his skill set as a soloist for the first time.
“Golden takes its motif from the golden moments of Jung Kook as a solo artist. Known as the ‘Golden Maknae’ (‘golden youngest’ in Korean) of BTS, Jung Kook is set to unveil a new release with his unique timbre that will captivate listeners worldwide,” Big Hit Music said in a press release.
The word has often been used to describe Jung Kook over the years, motioning towards his efficiency in multiple creative areas. But in 2021, the musician opened up to Rolling Stone about the pressure that comes with such a label.
“People say that I excel, that I’m an all-rounder. Of course I excel in some areas, but I don’t think it necessarily helps to bask in those talents and gifts,” he shared at the time. “You can only improve in a certain area when you really practice, when you really try, when you deep-dive into it. So I really don’t want to think myself as an all-rounder. I just want to keep trying and working hard. And of course I do feel pressure, but those pressures can also drag me to work hard and do best at what I do.”
With Golden on the horizon, Jung Kook is the latest BTS member to announce a full-length solo effort. Last month, V shared Layover featuring “Rainy Days” and “Slow Dancing,” while Suga released his debut solo record, D-Day, in April as the final addition to his mixtape trilogy. Jimin released FACE in March. In 2022, RM released his full-length Indigo and J-Hope shared Jack in the Box. Jin is the only member still awaiting a debut solo album, however he did share the one-off single “The Astronaut,” co-written by Coldplay, last October.
