The long-anticipated Justin Bieber India stop in New Delhi slated for next month stands canceled, a statement from co-organizer BookMyShow confirmed today. The cancelation comes a week after the Canadian pop star announced that he was pulling out from his Justice World Tour owing to exhaustion and health issues related to his Ramsay-Hunt diagnosis.

At the time of his announcement last week, BookMyShow maintained that his India show on October 18th at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium could as well continue. Bieber — who had briefly returned to touring in July after recovering from Ramsay Hunt Syndrome which left his face paralyzed earlier this year — has also called off shows in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, Bahrain, U.A.E. and Israel.

“We have just been informed that due to health concerns, he will unfortunately not be able to make it next month,” a statement from a BookMyShow spokesperson says.

The press statement from the co-organizers also adds, “While we are deeply disappointed that we will not be able to welcome Justin Bieber to India this year on account of his health concerns, we wish him well and hope he recovers at the earliest to be back for millions of his fans in India soon. While the cancellation of the ‘Justin Bieber Justice World Tour – India’ has been dependent on factors outside of our control, what is in our hands, is your experience as a BookMyShow consumer and the transparency you expect in the resolution to this situation. To that end, BookMyShow has already initiated a full and complete refund of the ticket amount for all consumers who had purchased tickets for the show. The complete refund will be reflected within 10 working days in the customer’s source account of the original transaction. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused but we promise, there is a lot more music and live entertainment coming your way, soon!”

The Justice World Tour’s India stop was being put together by BookMyShow Live and AEG Presents, making it a stadium show that would have been the first major international music concert taking place in the country since the start of the pandemic.
