Timberlake plays opposite Mumford’s wife Carey Mulligan in 'Inside Llewyn Davis’
Justin Timberlake and Mumford & Sons frontman Marcus Mumford collaborated on a song that will appear in the upcoming Coen brothers’ film Inside Llewyn Davis, MTV UK reports.
Timberlake ”“ who appears in the movie, along with Mumford’s wife, Carey Mulligan ”“ revealed the news during an interview with the UK radio station Capital FM, saying: “Marcus and myself, we all kind of worked on the music together and I don’t know any other world where we would have the opportunity to collaborate like that but it was so much fun.”
Noting that he and the Mumfords became good friends during the process, Timberlake added, “So not only will that be a great movie, but the music to it will be fantastic.”
Losely based on the life of 1960s folk icon Dave Van Ronk, Inside Llewyn Davis tells the story of the titular aspiring musician (played by Oscar Isaac) during the height of the Greenwich Village scene. Timberlake was cast as Jim Berkey, the husband of Davis’ love interest, Jean, played by Mulligan. You can check out the film’s first trailer though neither the film nor the soundtrack (which T Bone Burnett worked on) has received a release date yet.
