This Independence Day, the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) and the Government of Nagaland have come together to present a digital concert, Indie-Pendence Rock. The music festival, which will take place on India’s Independence Day on August 15th, features a diverse range of artists and is curated by Musik-A Events in association with Rolling Stone India and Music Connect Asia.

Musicians on the lineup include South Korean pop group MY.st, veteran rocker Uday Benegal of Indus Creed, Archy Jay aka The Snake Charmer from New Delhi, Swarathma’s Vasu Dixit plus Alobo Naga and The Band, Mar Jamir from Polar lights and singer-songwriter Koko from Nagaland. In addition to the performance on August 15th, headlining act MY.st will also take part in an online fan meeting event for Indian fans on August 13th.

“Thanks to TaFMA for trusting Musik-A and letting us curate the event and the artists,” said curator and founder of Musik-A Events, Alobo Naga, in a statement to Rolling Stone India. “We usually do K-pop events every year during summer, and were planning for a K-pop online gig even this year. So when we got to know about the Indie-pendence Rock gig, we decided to club it together. We wanted to get artists from across India, so we requested Uday from Mumbai, Vasu from Bangalore, The Snake Charmer from Delhi and of course my band ANTB, Koko and Mar from our state (Nagaland.)”
