Through these events, Kakao Entertainment hopes to galvanize the overseas efforts of its artists while also improving its multi-label model to expand its fan base worldwide
Kakao Entertainment artists are on track to grow their global fan base through world tours kicking out in March, according to a recent press release issued by the mega-corporation. “We will accelerate the expansion of global fandom for our artists through local promotions, creating synergies with world tours,” said Kakao Entertainment.
Ahead of their first world tour since their debut, Starship Entertainment’s IVE will be traveling across North America to meet their fans, while IU from EDAM Entertainment begins her world tour in March. The global business of Kakao Entertainment, which has developed a comprehensive global management system to arrange concert tours, record releases, and promotions to bolster its intellectual property business globally, is anticipated to create synergies with these major artist tours.
“2024 IU H.E.R. WORLD TOUR CONCERT,” IU’s inaugural global tour will kick off in March with stops in 18 cities worldwide, including those in Asia, Europe, and the United States. Following her success as the first female solo singer to perform at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium in 2022, she’s going to be the first female solo artist to take the stage at Seoul World Cup Stadium. Anecdotally, IU will be performing live cuts from her smash hits such as “Holssi,” “Shopper,” a double title track, and “Love Wins All,” a track off of her sixth mini-album.
IVE’s activities in the United States will also begin in March. They have a tour of six cities, including Los Angeles, lined up. The report states that the girls brought in over 78,000 spectators during their three-city Japan tour, which wrapped up in February. IVE’s later performances in Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan further solidified their worldwide reputation.
Then, in April, Starship Entertainment’s CRAVITY will entertain fans in Seoul with an array of concerts called “LUVITY GAMES.” Through global appearances like their official Japan debut and their first world tour, “MASTERPIECE,” last year, CRAVITY has amassed a growing fan base.
Likewise, THE BOYZ from IST Entertainment will participate in a variety of activities this year besides their highly successful second world tour, “ZENERATION,” which traveled to 13 cities across eight countries last year. “THE BOYZ 2ND WORLD TOUR: ZENERATION ENCORE IN JAPAN” was a fan meeting that they had in February to announce their upcoming world tour. They are releasing Love Letter, the third installment of their second album PHANTASY, on March 18, which will serve as a springboard for them to reinforce their unique talents.
Other highlights of the drive will see Antenna’s veteran and front-row singer KYUHYUN embark on his first solo Asia tour, dubbed ‘Restart’. He will bring his music to an international crowd in nine cities across eight countries and territories, including Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. Also, Kwon Jin-ah, Antenna’s phenomenal female solo singer, is presenting a three-day solo concert titled ‘Flower Heart’ from March 15 to 17.
With an increasing number of these glitzy shows as it sharpens its presence in global markets, especially those in North America, Europe, and Asia, Kakao Entertainment hopes to galvanize the overseas efforts of its artists while also improving its multi-label model to build a fanbase both locally and globally via the unique strengths of each label. “We plan to involve our artists in various global activities such as tours and local album releases and continue our investment in areas that help expand the range of K-pop to ensure that we can strengthen our competitiveness as a global player in the entertainment industry.”
