The Idea
The EDM scene in India is peaking, led by the likes of Midival Punditz and DJs such as Nikhil Chinapa, who have paved the way for a generaÂtion of young artists such as Dualist Inquiry. With electronica superstars including David Guetta, Tiesto, Avicii and Swedish House Mafia making an Indian stopover, it’s evident that India is top priority on their touring calendar. Our country has also been the biggest source of musical inspiraÂtion for several musicians across the world ”“ be it EDM heavyweights like Chase & Status, who have sampled Hindi film music from the soundtrack of Devdas for their “Eastern Jam” or M.I.A, who has sampled everything from bhangra beats to South Indian film music in her hits.
