The lineup of the three-day festival in the HP valley features The Local Train, Kanchan Daniel & the Beards, Shilpa Rao and more
The Kasauli Rhythm & Blues festival has been hosting both established and rising music talent from across the country since 2012. Organized by the non-profit organization Genesis Foundation, the festival which is held in the scenic valley in Solan, HP, donates the proceeds towards raising resources for critically-ill underprivileged kids. The upcoming fifth edition of the three-day festival will be held on the upcoming Easter weekend starting March 25th.
This year’s lineup features Delhi rock band The Local Train, Mumbai-based blues-rock and soul outfit Kanchan Daniel & the Beards, Delhi pop-rockers Frisky Pints, veteran composer Lesle Lewis and Bollywood playback singer Shilpa Rao, among others.
“We’re really glad we’ve been invited to be part of this fest,” says Raman Negi, frontman of The Local Train who will be performing at the Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival for the first time. “We will be showcasing new material and playing our debut album ”˜Aalas Ka Pedh.’” The band are also looking forward to enjoying Kasauli as a destination. Says Negi, “We’re heading there a day before our show to escape from the Delhi heat.”
Previous editions of the fest have included big names like Mumbai rock band Indus Creed, fusion band Advaita’s sarangi player Suhail Yusuf Khan, singer Rabbi Shergill from Delhi and more.
