The couple, Marcello and Brian, shared that they've been together for 14 years and hoped to tie the knot with the "Stronger" singer present
SOME PEOPLE WAIT a lifetime for a moment like this! During her New Year’s Eve Chemistry: An Intimate Evening show on Sunday, Kelly Clarkson bore witness and helped a couple tie the knot during a sweet moment.
“We’ve been together for 14 years, 15 in January,” Ryan told Clarkson, adding that they hoped to get married with Clarkson present. The singer looked on with an ear-to-ear grin, holding up her mic.
”Wait, say something!” Clarkson told one of the couple’s friends who served as officiant as he started sharing wedding vows. The couple, Brian and Marcello, each declared an “I do” and an “absolutely,” before sharing a smooch and posing for a selfie with the “Stronger” singer as the Bakkt Theater audience cheered.
“You guys, that was so wonderful,” Clarkson said. “OK, Marcelo and Ryan, good luck!”
Sunday’s show was part of a four-show extension of her Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood. The Grammy winner will next play two shows during Super Bowl weekend in February.
Clarkson originally wrapped her 10-date residency on Aug. 19, where she performed her hits, songs from her newest LP Chemistry, along with Kellyokes of her favorite songs, including Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” and Harry Styles’ “As It Was.”
The run of shows in Vegas celebrates the singer’s recent album of the same name, featuring songs such as “Mine,” “Me,” and “Favorite Kind of High.” “I could only commit to 10 shows, that’s why it’s exclusive,” Clarkson said when she first announced the residency. “I ain’t adding more, I’m telling you right now. Mama needs a little bit, a minute of a break.”
During one of the singer’s residency performances in August, her two children joined her onstage for a special moment.
“Both of my kiddos backstage getting ready to join me on stage in Vegas nothing will ever be as cool and amazing as these two little humans that will always have my whole heart,” Clarkson wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of her son Remington Alexander and daughter River Rose preparing for their big moment.
