KiiiKiii Drops Music Video for Pre-Release Single ‘I Do Me’

The cinematic video unfolds in the lap of nature amid joy, laughter, friendship, and freedom—the very essence of KiiiKiii

KiiiKiii—Starship Entertainment’s rookie group—already has over three million views on YouTube for the music video of its pre-release single, “I Do Me”—a testament to its solid skill set. If anything, this young quintet of Jiyu, Sui, Kya, Leesol, and Haum adds a new tone and vibe to K-pop.

KiiiKiii’s promotional rollout is fresh with a modern sensibility—not what’s usually the K-pop debut model, and thus, the “I Do Me” MV came out ahead of sharing the band members’ identities. I say it played its part well, thanks to the vibrant visuals, paying close attention to every member, and not to forget those impressive vocals.

The cinematic video unfolds in the lap of nature amid joy, laughter, friendship, and freedom—the very essence of KiiiKiii, signaling freshness, authenticity, and artistic independence above all else. The group’s digital presence has a distinct visual language that blends nostalgic Y2K aesthetics—of colors, retro-futuristic components, and expressiveness—and teases the creative route KiiiKiii is taking.

“I Do Me” inspires following your heart. The chorus lines “I do me, I do me right/Just I do me, I do my way/Other pictures turn upside down/In the end, it’s the path I take” focus on self-worth and the will to pursue the chosen path fearlessly. The overall sound made out of KiiiKiii’s beautiful vocal textures, orchestration, and snappy rhythm culminates in a pleasant pop song, but what sweetens the pot lies in the relaxing and inviting depictions.

In stark contrast to high-gloss, maximalist productions, the music video for “I Do Me” exudes an effortless coolness and a powerful sense of individuality, showcasing a raw, unfiltered aesthetic as stated in a press statement—from running across lush pastures to losing themselves in nature and getting soaked in the rain, the shots feature elements screaming of KiiiKiii’s free spirit in perfect harmony with words like “I’m just going to run however I want,” “Put on my wings,” and “I run in the air!”

KiiiKiii’s approach to self-expression is “I Do Me,” with each member adding her own flair to both the act and the song. Leading the charge is Jiyu, a rapper, singer, and dancer. The vocal line also includes Sui and “Maknae” Kya, the youngest member of the group. Finally, rapper Leesol and performer Haum cap the lineup. Interestingly, the six “i”s in “KiiiKiii” denote each of the five members, while the remaining one represents the fans.

According to an article in the Hollywood Reporter, KiiiKiii is scheduled to debut in March, with the release of its first EP, Uncut Gem, on Feb. 24.
