King Set for Debut Bangladesh Show This Week

New Delhi hitmaker – and Rolling Stone India cover star this month – King will play in Dhaka, Bangladesh for the first time this week, headlining the two-day Let’s Vibe Art and Music Festival on April 18th.

The “Tu Aake Dekhle” and “Maan Meri Jaan” singer, rapper and composer visits Bangladesh on the back of touring India to promote his 2023 album New Life, which also included songs like “Tu Jaana Na Piya” and “Sarkaare.”

King says in a statement about his upcoming Bangladesh concert, “I’ve received countless requests from fans worldwide to perform, and my team and I are committed to reaching every corner of the globe. Bangladesh has been on our radar for quite some time, and I’m thrilled that we can finally make this happen.”

The pop/hip-hop artist performs on day one of the festival, which last took place in December 2023 and brought in Indian artists like Anuv Jain and Darshan Raval to headline. Bangla bands like Aftermath and Shunno, plus EDM act Electric Ecstasy are also on the lineup for day one, headlined by King.

On day two, Let’s Vibe will be headlined by Pakistani pop voice Atif Aslam, with support from artists like Masha & Sunny, Kaaktaal, Firoze Jong and Karnival. The festival will take place at the Cricket Ground within Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka.

Earlier this month, King spoke about his plans for the year for Rolling Stone India’s Future of Music cover story, “My dream is still far ahead. Everything I’m accomplishing now is just a stepping stone towards the ultimate dream.”

On the radar is a song featuring American artist Jason Derulo, followed by his next studio album MM (the full form of which he’s yet to reveal) expected to drop close to fall. King said, “My fans are in for a surprise; Jason and I have crafted a track that will set the clubs on fire,” King said. “I’m also working on material that aligns with my fans’ expectations while also exploring new territories they’d never imagine I’d venture into.”

King also revealed his upcoming album will be a collab-heavy undertaking. “This project will stand as a substantial catalog of collaborations in the history of the Indian music industry.” In March, King also collaborated with Indian-origin DJ-producer KSHMR and pop artist Zaeden on “Aawara,” which had originally started as an idea for KSHMR’s album Karam. In the making for nearly two years, KING called the collaboration “a testament to the power of music to unite and being able to meld different sounds to bring about the best of both worlds.”
