After a summer wrought with a “Supersoaker,” sentimental girls and album teasing, Kings of Leon have released the next single off their upcoming Mechanical Bull, out September 24th. “Wait for Me” slows things down with a mid-tempo love song that’s equal parts plea and confession. “I’m going to soften the blow, soften the blow / And give it up / I saw the surprise / The look in your eyes / I gave it up,” Caleb Followill sings in his gravelly croon. Despite the disenchantment the love song describes, Followill offers reassurance, “It’s all better now / It’s all better now / Wait for me.”
