The pop singer confirmed her Valentine’s Day engagement to actor Taylor Kinney on Instagram

If you were wondering just how corny Valentine’s Day is, look no further. After a week’s speculation, American popstar Lady Gaga took to Instagram to confirm the news that she got engaged to marry actor Taylor Kinney. Posting a photo of a heart-shaped diamond ring, the singer added the caption, “He gave me his heart on Valentine’s Day, and I said YES!”
Lady Gaga, best known for her hits such as “Poker Face,” “Bad Romance” and “Born This Way,” first met Kinney on the sets of the music video shoot for the song “You and I,” off 2011’s Born This Way. While they called things off in May 2012, the pair got back together a month later. While Lady Gaga avoided showing off the ring, even covering it while she stepped out on February 16th, following a tour with singer Tony Bennett. Both Lady Gaga and Bennett recently released their collaboration album, Cheek to Cheek, in September last year.
Earlier in December last year, Gaga spoke to radio jockey Howard Stern about working with Bennett and growing up. While the biggest revelation was her story about being raped as a teenager, Lady Gaga also spoke about her relationship with Kinney, who is a lead cast member in drama TV series Chicago Fire. When Stern asks her if she’ll only be in a relationship with an artist, Gaga says, “I can’t really imagine being with anyone other than who I’m with right now,” referring to Kinney. Gaga adds, “What I do feed off is the ability to have a creative conversation with him. When Stern asks if Kinney has proposed, Gaga says, “He is the right guy. How do we know? I have this feeling…”
Stern and Gaga later joke about what the wedding will be like, and why he won’t be invited, when the singer adds that if she were to marry, the wedding would be nothing lavish. Says Gaga, “I’ll be hanging out in a pickup truck at a [wedding dress designer store] David’s Bridal while my stylist is screaming at me.”
