Lady Gaga Releases Third Indian remix

Published by

Lady Gaga has released a Bollywood-inspired remix of yet another Born This Way single, this time in collaboration with DJ Aqeel. In this remix, DJ Aqeel reinvents the hit single ”˜Edge of Glory’ by introducing the dhol-and-fanfare elements of old-school Bollywood. This Indianised rendition of ”˜Edge of Glory’ joins Salim and Sulaiman’s remix of ”˜Born This Way’ and Culture Shock’s take on ”˜Judas’ as the latest in a three-part series of DesiHits-produced Lady Gaga remixes.

Gaga has also announced a visit to India in October 2011, though it’s still unclear if any concerts are scheduled. Troy Carter, CEO of Atom Factory (Gaga’s management company) explained this series of events, in a statement, as Atom Factory’s and Gaga’s attempt to “show our respect and appreciation for our desi fans and music community.”

Anjula Acharia-Bath, CEO of DesiHits, echoed this sentiment. “Her music has really touched the hearts of desis everywhere so we’re helping her pursue this audience to authentically connect with both the huge diaspora and South Asia itself,” she said.
