“It’s 2012, the year the Mayan calendar ”“ according to some ”“ says the world is going to end. What better time than to embark on a world tour?” says Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe in the first trailer for their latest documentary, titled As the Palaces Burn after their third studio album.

The Virginia, U.S., metallers who recently played their second show in India, have filmed their extensive world tour in support of their seventh studio album Resolution for a full-length documentary feature that will premiere in 2013. The documentary, directed by award-winning filmmaker Don Argott (Rock School, Last Days Here), has been filmed across the world ”“ in Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, India and Israel. The documentary seemingly traces the evolution of heavy metal in the world juxtaposing against the background of economic uncertainty, political instability, war and violence. In India, the band filmed exclusively with one fan ”“ Chronic Phobia frontwoman Pratika Prabhune ”“ while also recording their show at Nokia Alive in Bengaluru.

Filming for the documentary will conclude with Lamb of God’s extensive U.S. tour which wraps up in September this year. The extended trailer also contains the live video for their track “Desolation” from Resolution.
