Leo Grewal Announces New Album ‘Leonization’
Punjabi artist and ‘Breakup Party’ hitmaker has shoutouts from Yo Yo Honey Singh and Diljit Dosanjh in introductory video
Punjabi artist Leo Grewal has dropped the intro video for his upcoming album Leonization, with shoutouts from stars like Grewal’s longtime collaborator Yo Yo Honey Singh and Diljit Dosanjh. The album, releasing via T-Series, will have its first single come out later this month.
In the video, Singh predicts the artist will dominate the future. Dosanjh, for his part, congratulates Grewal in a voice note, sending love and respect.
The artist has scored previous big hits with Yo Yo Honey Singh, such as “Breakup Party,” “Millionaire,” “Jatt Mehkma,” and most recently, “Maniac.”
Grewal says in a statement, “Over a decade in, and I’m still hungry, still reinventing and learning the craft of music. I’ve been lucky enough to work with artists like Honey paaji and also learn so much from artists like Diljit paaji who have paved the way for every upcoming artist. I’ve taken those lessons to build something of my own. Leonization is everything I’ve lived for. T-Series and Bhushan Kumar [label chairman and managing director] have always backed fresh new talents, and now, with their support, I’m here to set the bar higher and take this game to the next level.”
In the video, Grewal delivers a freestyle rap to reinforce his intent in the Indian hip-hop game. A press release adds, “Pure hunger, confidence, and power, setting the bar high. Leonization is here to satisfy the hunger of those craving real, powerful music.”
