A week of workshops, masterclasses, panel discussions and performances will be held between October 11th to 18th
In a bid to give back to the Indian music scene, Levi’s Music Week will not only showcase talent but also enable artists, provide a platform for the community, encourage inclusiveness and transform culture.
The Levi’s Lounge will play host to the event series, starting from October 11th to October 18th. These include a documentary screening, music production workshops such as hip-hop production by ace producer Sez On The Beat as well as a workshop on the process of music production from demos to masters by Savage Audio and Island City Studios.
The initiative will also focus on optimizing social media and distribution with masterclasses from Padmanabhan NS on Spotify for artists, increasing fans and monetizing music on Bandcamp by Aly Gillani and a tutorial on Instagram for artists by Roxanne Chinoy.
Panel discussions will highlight topics such as the power of community, taking Indian music to the world and the importance of visual identity. Some of the speakers will include the likes of 4/4 Entertainment’s Nikhil Udupa, Nrtya’s Parth Taco, Bacardi NH7 Weekender’s Supreet Kaur, guitarist/producer Keshav Dhar, metaller Sahil Makhija aka Demonstealer, visual artist Giggling Monkey and more.
Levi’s Music Week has also reserved a day for nurturing women in music called #IShapeMyWorld. The day kicks off with a DJ production workshop by electronica artist Kini Rao as well as a panel discussion featuring hip-hopper Raja Kumari and singer-songwriters Mali and Shalmali Kholgade.
Thursday focuses on insights and experiences from international music with Renaat Vanpapeliere, founder of R&S Records on his 35-year journey and Noah Ball on curating a music festival lineup. Raj Chaudhuri will moderate both conversations.
Live performances at the Levi’s Lounge will include sets by electronica artists Dualist Inquiry and Komorebi, instrumental rockers Zokova, singer-songwriters Aarifah and Ditty and London DJ Raji Rags. Levi’s Music Week culminates with 501 Friday, a celebration of original music at Mumbai’s antiSOCIAL with DJs Rohan Kale, Slick Shoota and Fixate behind the deck.
