Lights Out and Away We Go: The Inside Line F1 Podcast to Host First Offline Event This Weekend in Mumbai

F1 Pitstop will take place on January 15th at the city-based Khar Social

Published by

The Inside Line F1 Podcast has been bringing us all things F1 since 2011 and has brought on guests who range from former F1 World Champions to journalists and eminent personalities from the paddock. Now, the podcast is putting on its first-ever offline event called F1 Pitstop at Mumbai’s Khar Social.

The evening, which is set to be fun-filled, includes speakers such as F1 journalist Mithila Mehta, broadcasting prodigy Soumil Arora, Sundaram Ramaswami aka @f1statsguru, and Inside Line founder and journalist Kunal Shah.

We caught up with organizer Rohan Kotadia to find out more about F1 Pitstop and plans around the event. Read excerpts:

What can folks expect from the event?

It’s the off-season. We’re facing the blues as much as you are! [People can expect] an F1 banter-filled evening, full of humor-filled conversations and real-life paddock experiences. @f1statsguru will host an engaging F1 quiz. India’s brightest F1 hopeful and Mahindra Racing’s reserve driver, Jehan Daruvala, will join the event for a virtual interaction with all the attendees. Along with meeting like-minded fans in Mumbai, you will get to experience and participate in a live recording of the Inside Line F1 Podcast.

What led to putting this together?

The Inside Line Club was in the plans for many months; especially after we had a bumper last two years – for the podcast and @f1statsguru. We’re one of the largest digital creators for F1 in the world – born in India, consumed by the world. So, hosting offline meet-ups was a natural extension for us; it was also something a lot of our listeners and followers suggested we pursue.

Are there any plans for future editions?

We’re planning for between four to six F1 Pitstop events in 2023. These will be multi-city events. We will endeavor to invite F1 legends to host the future sessions along with us.
