Lil Nas X revealed he’s suffering from a mysterious case of partial facial paralysis, posting a video from a hospital bed on Monday after the condition sent him to seek medical attention. The rapper has yet to reveal what caused the incident.
In the original video shared to his 10 million followers, Lil Nas X kept a positive attitude about the ordeal, joking and demonstrating how half his face had become immobile. “I can’t even laugh right, bro,” he said while showing a lopsided smile. He showed more of his paralysis on his Instagram story. As his night progressed, he requested of his fans: “Stop being sad for me! Shake ur ass for me instead!
This morning, the 26-year-old revealed that he was already back at home and had regained some movement in the right side of his face, specifically the lower half. “This right eye is keeping an eye out for Selen-er. It do not give a fuck,” he joked, referencing Nicki Minaj’s verse on Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat.”
Prior to his medical incident, Lil Nas X had been rolling out his second album, Dreamboy. Though he has yet to reveal an official release date, he’s been consistently dropping a series of new songs and videos. In November, he officially launched the era with singles “Light Again” and “Need Dat Boy.” Most recently, he premiered the song “Hotbox.” This summer, he’s scheduled to headline Outloud Festival, an annual Pride Month festival in Los Angeles, alongside Lizzo and Kim Petras.
