Stream a song from the band's forthcoming album, 'Codes and Keys'
When Death Cab for Cutie talked to Rolling Stone about their forthcoming album, Codes and Keys, earlier this year, guitarist Chris Walla described the band’s new material as “very Seventies electronic.” Though “You Are a Tourist,” the album’s first single, is closer to the band’s established sound, the new track “Some Boys” delivers on Walla’s promise for a more ambient, Brian Eno-esque vibe. Even still, the song’s driving beat and frontman Ben Gibbard’s sweet vocal melody keep the band rooted in its strengths as musicians while feeling out new sonic territory. Codes and Keys will hit stores on May 31st, but you can listen to “Some Boys” in the SoundCloud player below.
