The Chennai band, who perform at The Purple Fest today, push debut EP launch to July
Chennai alt rockers The F16’s mellow down on their latest single “Light Bulbs” from their upcoming EP, Kaleidoscope. The band, who planned to release their debut earlier this year, are currently working on the mixing and mastering and are confident of launching it by next month.Â
Their latest song was written last year around the time they formed the band. “Our songs usually have a tale to tell in the form of melodies and lyrics. ”˜Light Bulbs’ is a mellow and melancholy attempt at a man’s denial and unattached attitude towards pleasures that he no longer cares about,” says vocalist Joshua Fernandez.Â
The F16’s, who performed in Mumbai last month, add that they haven’t performed in their home city for over three months now. Tonight as they take stage at the Purple Fest, the electro rockers, will feature some of their new material. “Well, we’re pretty pumped up about The Purple Fest, Chennai’s finally taking initiative in promoting the music scene here. We will be playing all our songs from the EP along with six new compositions that we’ve recently come up with,” adds Fernandez about their 90-minute set.Â
