Renowned musician and composer Nitin Sawhney turns up the distortion with his latest single “When I’m Gone.” The angst-ridden track captures Sawhney belting out “You’re gonna hear from me when I’m gone/I’m gonna haunt your dreams when you sleep” against a background of distorted, bluesy riffage.

The song starts in a typical folk/blues style, making use of captivating vocal refrains and sliding notes ”“it is even reminiscent of songs by American blues/rock duo Black Keys – but quickly widens out to include some bass-heavy groove and dramatic violins in the background. Sawhney collaborated with up-and-coming electronica artist Stealth on it.

“When I’m Gone” is the first single off Sawhney’s tenth studio album Dystopian Dream, which releases on November 6th, 2015. The British Indian musician is known for his eclectic blend of jazz, Indian classical, electronica and blues.
