The release follows the South Korean producer, singer-songwriter's 2021 single album '#0055b7'
Making a breezy return to the spotlight, South Korean producer, singer-songwriter SHAUN sings about love at first sight on his latest release “So Right.” Featuring pop star Yuna, the collaborative single comes roughly nine months after the release of SHAUN’s 2021 single “Blue” featuring South Korean rapper Wonstein.
Co-written by the artists, “So Right” is a sensual house single, heightened by SHAUN’s and Yuna’s breathy vocalizations. SHAUN-who rose to fame with his viral breakout single “Way Back Home” featuring English singer Conor Maynard in 2018- creates a familiar sonic atmosphere, employing warm guitar sounds meshed with rich beats, finger clicks snaps and dulcet bird chirps, mimicking a serene, rosy setting that nurtures romance.
At its core, “So Right” explores the indescribable feeling of love at first sight with the least expected person in your life. With an influx of emotions that cannot be explained or denied, the track opens with Yuna singing; “Hit and run/ Came into my life like the morning sun/ Won’t give up my heart for anyone/ You doin’ it like you’re having fun, oh yeah.” SHAUN’s breathy vocalization joins the track in the latter half, with answers to the questions Yuna previously highlighted; “Take your time/ This ain’t just some temporary high/ Baby, it’s not like I’m gonna die (Gonna die, gonna die)/ If you don’t feel the same, I’ma be alright, oh yeah.”
Currently the most-streamed DJ in Asia, SHAUN is the artist behind the mega-hit single “Way Back Home,” streaming over 2 billion worldwide and has topped number 1 in various digital charts in Asia. The multifaceted artist is also amongst the top 10 most streamed K-Pop male artists on Spotify in 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Representing hijabsters, a compound word between hijab and hipsters, Yuna is receiving enthusiastic support from the MZ generation, actively expressing modern women’s images beyond the image of a traditional Muslim woman. According to the press statement, SHAUN and Yuna met last October in a studio in LA and started their musical exchanges and have been staying in contact since.
