As International Jazz Day is staged online due to the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve got you covered on the best places to catch the livestream gigs and your favorite local jazz artists.
An annual affair curated by veteran piano player Louiz Banks, this year’s lineup includes quite a versatile and abundantly talented cast of musicians. With Banks himself jumping in on the action, there’s also Mumbai’s instrumental horn outfit Bombay Brass led by saxophonist Rhys Sebastian on the bill as well as singer-songwriter Gary Lawyer, ace vocalist Samantha Noella, guitar maverick Rhythm Shaw, ace bass players Mohini Dey and Sheldon D’Silva, drummer/composer Aman Jagwani, crooner Vasundhara Vee and more.

Pop culture channel Vh1 India have put together their own fun-filled lineup of exciting young jazz artists the country has to offer. From the likes of Mumbai vocal trio Queendom to Bengaluru jazz/neo-soul duo Apartment Upstairs, also on the bill are pianist Anurag Naidu, sax players Shreyas Iyengar and Abhay Sharma, soulful singer Shreya Bhattacharya, jazz/hip-hop outfit Fakeer & The Arc and Ahmedabad guitarist Chirag Todi.
