Organizers cite security concerns due to upcoming elections
American singer, rapper and dancer, RedFoo aka Stefan Kendal Gordy has postponed his tour of India citing shortage of security personnel due to the elections that will be held in the second week of April in Mumbai and New Delhi. RedFoo, who is part of EDM rap duo LMFAO, was originally scheduled to perform in Gurgaon on March 22nd and in Mumbai on March 23rd.Â
According to a release, government authorities were skeptical to issue relevant licenses to the organizers, foreseeing a possible security problem. The event was scheduled during the election period, at which point police personnel would be unavailable. Says Sujit Jain, managing director of organizers Netsurf Entertainment, “The artist will visit India to fulfill his commitment to his fans. We have received an overwhelming public response to the initial announcement and we are pulling all strings together to ensure the event is a success.” Tickets purchased online and through retail outlets will be valid for the new dates or optionally refunded.Â
The American EDM rapper duo LMFAO comprises the uncle and nephew team Stefan Kendal Gordy and Skyler Austen Gordy. They have previously collaborated with the likes of David Guetta, Will.i.am, PSY, Far East Movement, Lil’ Jon, Steve Aoki, Fergie and Kanye West, among others.
