Electronic artists like Diplo, Madeon, Zhu, indie acts Japanese Breakfast, Wombats and Alec Benjamin are also headed to Mumbai in January
Lollapalooza India 2023 lineup
The star-studded lineup for Lollapalooza India 2023 is here. American arena-rock band Imagine Dragons and indie-rock favorites The Strokes have been announced as the headliners, making their India debut alongside rockers Greta Van Fleet, pop artist Jackson Wang, electronic artists like Zhu, Imanbek and Madeon, U.K. rock band The Wombats, indie-pop act Japanese Breakfast, singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin and singer-producer Chelsea Cutler, among others.
Also returning to India are the likes of EDM frontrunner and producer Diplo and dream-pop band Cigarettes After Sex. They’re joined by electronic artists like Kasablanca and Apashe, plus what promises to be a special country debut for Indo-American pop artist Raveena.
After a longer-than-anticipated wait, Lollapalooza India has finally dropped its entire lineup of 40 international and Indian artists at the two-day festival in Mumbai. The American-origin festival will hit its eighth country in January 2023, setting up on January 28th and 29th at Mahalaxmi Race Course with four stages.
Among the Indian artists drawing their own crowds are Punjabi star AP Dhillon, hip-hop heavyweight DIVINE, singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad, folk-metallers Bloodywood, Hindi pop-rock act The Yellow Diary and more. The lineup of 40 artists also includes electronic artists like Sandunes, Kumail, hip-hop beatsmith Parimal Shais, singer-songwriter Kavya, indie rock band The F16s, nu-disco/funk act Madboy/Mink, post-rock act Aswekeepsearching, singer-songwriters Tejas, Tanmaya Bhatnagar, Mali, Pune band Easy Wanderlings and more.
While Bengaluru act T.ill APES, Mumbai singer-songwriter and producer-DJ Kayan, rapper Siri and brass group Bombay Brass are expected to bring the party early to Lollapalooza India, there’s also a special collaboration-heavy set in store from Mumbai-based bassist and producer Hashbass aka Harshit Misra, who’s curating a set titled House of Hashbass. While Aswekeepsearching are also expected to bring a scaled-up production, Mumbai DJ-producer Abhi Meer will perform a special house music set. Among the freshest acts on the Lollapalooza lineup are hip-hop artist Tracy De Sa and singer-songwriter Aadya.
Tickets for the two-day music festival have now gone back on sale, following the early bird rush in August. General tickets are selling at ₹8,999 and VIP packages are going at ₹19,999 per head. A platinum ticket, which offers tabled seating, deck access, air-conditioned restrooms and transport between stages is charged at ₹64,999.
Around 60,000 attendees are expected in Mumbai in January, according to promoters and entertainment platform BookMyShow. They are also a co-producer of Lollapalooza India, alongside global producers, Perry Farrell (the rock frontman of Jane’s Addiction and festival founder) and C3 Presents.
