Guwahati-based alternative metal band Lucid Recess will release ‘Changes Are Sold’, the second single from their in-the-works second album on May 4, 2012. The band will also release a video for the song on the same day. ‘Changes Are Sold’ has also been selected as the official theme song of the 2nd Guwahati International Short Film Festival.

Lucid Recess was formed in 2004 by brothers Siddharth and Amit Barooa. Their current drummer and percussionist Partha Boro joined them in 2009. The band released their debut EP Carved in 2007 and their first full-length album Engraved Invitation in 2010. In 2011, the band won the prestigious Toto Funds The Arts Award for Music.

Talking about their under-production second album, guitarist and backing vocalist Siddharth Barooa said, “We’ve just started working on our new album and have finished only two singles so far. Our drummer is also going to help us compose songs for this album, unlike the last time where only my brother and I wrote the songs. We’re going to work more like a band. Also, the drums will be recorded live this time”.

Siddharth is really looking forward for the release of this new album. “As of now, we’re thinking of launching an EP of 3 to 4 songs, some time in June or July. This will be a teaser for the album, which we plan to release later this year.”

‘Wireless Junkies’, the first song from the album was released in October 2011. Listen to it below:
