The American folk singer-songwriter takes his solo show on the road in India for the first time
M. Ward will be on a three-city India tour in March
The recent confirmation of folk/jazz singer-songwriter Norah Jones heading to India for a three-city tour brought with it news of the opening act in Matthew Stephen Ward, better known as M. Ward of American folk pop bands such as She & Him [with actor Zooey Deschanel] and Monsters of Folk.
Ward follows Jones on a tour of Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru in March. Having toured together last in 2007 across America, Ward and Jones play a similar brand of new-world folk, drawing from country and blues. Ward and Jones have collaborated previously on songs such as “Sinkin’ Soon” on Jones’s 2007 album Not Too Late and a cover of Roy Orbison’s “Blue Bayou” on the 2010 compilation album of collaborations titled ”¦Featuring.
