Mumbai-based artist is halfway through a 15-city run of shows, with upcoming concerts in Delhi NCR, Ahmednagar, Jaipur, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Indore and Ahmedabad between Nov. 2024 and Feb. 2025
Predominantly known for his take on qawwali legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s songs like “Kali Kali Zulfon Ke” and “Kiven Mukhde,” Madhur Sharma arguably steps into a new era with his debut EP Reversion, released on Oct. 16, 2024.
Along with the EP drop, Sharma also announced his EP launch tour, which kicked off on Oct. 18, 2024 in Hyderabad and has since stopped by Raipur, Latur, Ajmer and more.
In the coming weeks, the 15-city Reversion Tour will stop by Delhi NCR (Nov. 29), Ahmednagar (Nov. 30), Jaipur (Dec. 21), Pune (Dec. 27), Bengaluru (Dec. 28), Mumbai (Jan. 12), Indore (Jan. 24) and Ahmedabad (Feb. 15) with more dates to be announced.
Known for leading lo-fi versions of songs, Reversion claims to showcase Sharma’s versatility as a singer and on the sonic front with influences ranging from Afrobeats to indie-pop, plus a wedding anthem. Collaborators on the four-track EP include songwriters like Ronit Vinta, producer-composer Swapnil Tare, DJ Ruchir and Ayo Shree.
Sharma says in a statement, “It is an interesting time with many experimental pieces of music coming out. With Reversion, we wanted people of all ages to resonate with the sound of the EP as we seamlessly incorporated genres across the board to add a diverse, fun, and inclusive sound to fans’ playlists. It was a rewarding experience to release the music.”
He adds about the tour and performing these new songs live, “Nothing will ever compare to the immediate audience reaction to the piece of music you created, and this tour will be an opportunity to interact with my fans. I am indebted to them for showering love on all the music that I have released, and I hope this relationship will continue for eternity.”
