Madonna Takes a Tumble at BRIT Awards

The singer fell on stage while performing her new song “Living For Love”

Madonna has always been one to keep audiences glued to her stage show, whether it involves kissing Britney Spears in 2003 or using Nazi imagery during her 2012 Europe tour. At the 35th edition of the BRIT Awards, however, the singer suffered an injurious wardrobe malfunction that caused her to fall backwards while performing her new song “Living For Love.”

The singer’s first performance in 20 years at the BRIT Awards was one of the most anticipated events at the 35th edition of the show, but the pop singer’s set took a turn for the worse during the premiere of “Living For Love,” off her upcoming album Rebel Heart. Madonna’s cape seems to have been tugged too strongly, causing the singer to fall. Not one to let the show get disrupted, she got back on her feet and continued singing. Madonna later took to Instagram to clear up that she suffered no injury, saying in a post, “Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I’m fine!”

Madonna wasn’t the only one premiering new material at the awards show. Rapper Kanye West debuted a fiery new track called “All Day” during his set. Other performers at the show included pop band Take That, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran [who is heading to India this week] and Sam Smith, among others.
