With a theme of “reconnection” in their scope, Magnetic Fields Festival will host top names in electronic music who are returning to perform as well as debuting at the three-day edition, held from December 9th to December 11th at Alsisar Mahal in Rajasthan.

British DJ-producer Four Tet aka Kieran Hebden will make a return to the festival, following his India debut at the 2017 edition of Magnetic Fields. Hebden will also be presenting sets by DJ-producers such as Chloé Robinson and Anthony Naples. Also joining the bill is another veritable friend of the festival, Ben UFO. This time around, he’ll be at the decks with fellow electronic music producers like Pearson Sound and Pangaea, as they celebrate 15 years of the label Hessle Audio. A festival exclusive is reserved for the transmedia performance titled Elsewhere in India, brought together by Hyderabad-based producer Murthovic and visual artist Thiruda. Viennese duo HVOB, New Delhi drummer-producer Tarun Balani’s visual collaboration as Seasonal Affected Beats with photographer/filmmaker Parizad D, Chennai electronica act Sapta, hip-hop act T.ill APES and more have also been announced.

Among the newly named stages at Magnetic Fields are the BUDx North Stage and the Jameson South Stage and elsewhere, there’s a Resident Advisor party on day two, featuring U.K.’s breakout DJ and selector Jossy Mitsu. Amsterdam’s Young Marco will perform at the Ray-Ban Studios Desert Oasis stage. The Sundowner stage, meanwhile, will bring in French hip-hop artist ONRA, New Delhi producer FILM‘s alter-ego Tyrell Dub Corp, a live set by Kiss Nuka, plus sets by the likes of chillwave producer Chrms and Bengaluru-based singer-songwriter Rudy Mukta.

Among the first wave of Indian artists announced for the festival are Hamza Rahimtula, who will open the Four Tet showcase, Kohra (going B2B with his Thailand counterpart, Sunju Hargun), Hashbass and more. Mumbai-based Export Quality Records will be hosting a showcase which reps live sets by artists such as Dohnraj & The Peculiars, Sunflower Tape Machine, Tribemama Marykali, Dappest x adL, RANJ x Clifr and Curtain Blue.

While the Covid-19 pandemic made the widely-followed event shut shop briefly in 2020, co-organizers and founders Wild City did end up hosting a new offshoot of sorts in March 2021 with Magnetic Fields Nomads in Ranthambore. Now, with the whole world of touring and international performances opening up once again, the full-fledged festival will resume in Alsisar.

Tickets for Magnetic Fields Festival 2022 were sold out within days of going public in June.
