Mahindra Blues Festival 2024: Tickets On Sale Now
The 12th edition of the Mahindra Blues Festival will take place from February 10th and 11th at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai
The Mahindra Blues Festival returns for its 12th edition in Mumbai on February 10th and 11th, setting up at its home in Mehboob Studios in Bandra.
Tickets for the two-day festival are on sale now, with early bird prices starting off at ₹3,999 for single day pass and ₹5,999 for a season pass to attend both days. Mahindra Blues organizers say that the lineup for the 12th edition is coming up soon.
A press release for the festival says that they will continue their “tradition of showcasing a dynamic mix of international stars and homegrown heroes, further cementing its status as a pivotal platform in the blues world.”
The artists will be performing across festival stages including Polka Dot Parlour and Soul Strat Saloon. Another recent mainstay from the last few years has been The Mahindra Blues Band Hunt, which organizers say will also be soon announced. The press release states that the goal with the band hunt is “spotlighting nascent talent on the garden stage, a testament to the genre’s evolving narrative.” Past winners include the likes of Kolkata’s Arinjoy Trio, Karan Mahajan Band, Lal and the People and Aayushi Karnik.
The biggest draw at Mahindra Blues Festival, of course, remains its international headliners, who all converge for an all-star jam to close day two. In the past, the festival has featured regular performances by blues legends such as Buddy Guy, John Mayall, Taj Mahal, Charlie Musselwhite, Jimmie Vaughan, Billy Gibbons, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Johnny Lang, Beth Hart, Ana Popovic, Matt Schofield, Shemekia Copeland, along with a diverse roster of emerging talents including Charlie “Kingfish” Ingram, Arinjoy Sarkar, Ivan Singh, and many more. Outside of Mumbai, the festival is also held biannually in Chicago at Buddy Guy’s Legends Club.
Mahindra Group’s cultural outreach vice president Jay Shah says in a statement, “Mahindra is a name synonymous with nurturing arts, culture, and community, and continues to fuel India’s blues passion. The Mahindra Blues Festival is more than a convergence of musical talent; it’s a cultural odyssey that pays homage to the rich tapestry of blues music worldwide. As we step into our twelfth year, we’re honored to continue fostering this deep-rooted connection among blues enthusiasts worldwide.”
The dates for the Mahindra Blues Festival 2024 were announced as early as July this year, along with the group’s other music festivals including Mahindra Independence Rock (which took place on November 4th and 5th) in Mumbai, Mahindra Kabira Festival (December 15th to 17th) in Varanasi, Mahindra Roots Festival (February 24th and 25th, 2024) in Mumbai and the Mahindra Percussion Festival (March 23rd, 2024) in Bengaluru. Venue, lineup and ticket details are awaited for all events from the organizers.
