A journey through India’s rich culture, one festival at a time
The Mahindra Group has revealed its Cultural Events Calendar for 2024-2025, which promises to be a high-spirited celebration of India’s rich culture.
This year’s calendar offers something for everyone, including rock music, poetry, performing and visual arts, and crafts. Mahindra, which has long been an amplifier in preserving and advancing India’s cultural heritage, has seen its events broaden in size, significance, and creativity over the years. While remaining rooted in the traditions, these gatherings would focus on attracting the younger audience.
This year, Mahindra Group’s acclaimed series of live events, which are part of its Cultural Outreach Initiative, will once again serve as a driving force in maintaining India’s cultural heritage while ensuring that these traditional customs thrive in the modern world.
1. Mahindra Independence Rock Festival (16th–17th November 2024): Based on last year’s success, the 30th edition of the festival hopes to revive India’s rock music sector. By providing a forum for young independent rock musicians to voice non-conformist ideas, the festival promotes freedom of speech, inclusivity, and equality.
2. Mahindra Kabira Festival (13th-15th December 2024): The Mahindra Kabira Festival is a yearly event organised on Varanasi’s historic ghats to celebrate the mystic melodies and artistic spirit of Poet-Saint Kabir. This version aims to bring Kabir’s ageless philosophy to life, linking his profound lessons with current audiences in a lively and compelling manner.
3. Mahindra Sanatkada Lucknow Festival (31st January – 4th February 2025): The Mahindra Sanatkada Lucknow Festival is a five-day annual celebration that showcases the rich and harmonious culture of Awadh.
4. Mahindra Blues Festival (8th February – 9th February 2025): As Asia’s largest Blues festival, the cultural festival has become a landmark Western music event in Mumbai, firmly woven into the city’s cultural fabric. Hosted at Mehboob Studios, this year’s edition aims to feature the world’s leading blues artists, establishing itself as a premier destination for blues enthusiasts.
5. Mahindra Percussion Festival (8th – 9th March 2025): The Mahindra Percussion Festival is a game-changing platform that explores a variety of music genres, all anchored by powerful percussion rhythms that convey the soul of music. The third edition, which aims to democratise the arts and push creative limitations, is a celebration of rhythm that deeply resonates with human emotions, providing a truly world-class cultural experience.
6.
