The quartet's latest comeback serves as the lead single of their special compilation album 'I Say Mamamoo: The Best'
Doubling as an early Christmas gift for their fans, South Korean girl group Mamamoo have released their special compilation album I Say Mamamoo: The Best.
Co-written by rapper Moonbyul, the dreamy dance-pop single “Mumumumuch” captures Mamamoo’s playful side, as the group unwinds and engages in fun activities at the poolside of a mansion. With a smart wordplay on the group’s fandom name (Moomoo), the track captures the members’ admiration and love towards their fans, emphasizing how integral they are to Mamamoo’s success.
Reimagining their past hits, Mamamoo’s I Say Mamamoo: The Best brings forward 23 remixed tracks from the group’s discography. With hits like “Starry Nights (Orchestra Ver),” “Aya (Traditional version,)” “I Miss You 2021” and more, the repackaged album is a celebration of the group’s seven-year-long legacy as one of the leading female K-pop groups.
This also marks the group’s first album to come after vocalist Wheein’s departure from their company RBW. While Solar, Moonbyul and Hwasa have agreed to re-sign their contracts under the label, Wheein will be pursuing a solo career under VIXX rapper Ravi’s The L1ve Label. The vocalist will continue juggling between her roles as a soloist and a member of Mamamoo till December 2023.
