On August 31 at midnight KST, South Korean record label THE L1VE announced MAMAMOO’s Wheein as the latest addition to their roster.

Founded by VIXX rapper and producer Ravi, THE L1VE welcomes Wheein as the second vocalist to join after Korean-American singer-songwriter Ailee, who declared her association with the label in mid-July.

Sharing exclusive photoshoot images, Wheein confirmed her partnership with THE L1VE Label along with a heartfelt caption thanking fans who’ve showered the vocalist with love and support over the past years:

“Hello, this is Wheein. For the MooMoos who waited patiently, and for the many people who are cheering me on, I will work hard to show good music and a good image through THE L1VE. I will work hard at both solo promotions and MAMAMOO promotions from now on, so please send me your support! To the MooMoos that I love, I will continue to work to show you what you want and expect. Trust in me!”

In June 2021, RBW (MAMAMOO’s label) announced Wheein’s decision to turn down the contract renewal. MAMAMOO’s other members Solar, Hwasa and Moonbyul, collectively decided to extend their contact with the label. Though Wheein’s has departed RBW, she remains a part of the group and will continue to work with her members till December 2023, while simultaneously releasing solo projects under THE L1VE Label.
