Man.Goes Human Head Out on Thailand Tour

The New Delhi alternative act will perform four gigs this week, kicking off with a send-off in the capital on November 24th

When New Delhi alternative rock band Man.Goes Human released their EP Moonglasses exactly a year ago, they made sure it reached international audiences as much as it circulated around India. Bassist and songwriter Shitij Gulati says they found interest in Europe, Malaysia and Thailand. “For every 20 tweets, mails or Facebook messages, we would get one response who would direct us to someone,” he says.

Stringing together everyone who wrote back, Man.Goes Human have now got themselves a tour of sorts in Thailand, performing four shows, as well as a magazine interview. Gulati plainly says, “Monetarily it’s not that great, [which is] why it took us so long to pinpoint places and venues.” The band will play from their self-titled debut album as well as Moonglasses EP as part of the tour setlist, and Gulati says they have a few covers “only to be used if necessary.” With drummer Anhad Khanna unavailable, the band is enlisting Nugen Prince (from New Delhi prog/jazz and R&B band The Raven) to join them on the road.

The band kicks off in New Delhi on November 24th, followed by a show in Bangkok on November 26th, to Mahaniyom on 27th, Ayutthaya on 28th and a performance session and interview at Thailand’s well-known Cat Radio studio on the 29th. Gulati adds about their plans after the tour, “We intend to take a bit of a break post this. This tour planning, to be honest, has been harrowing. A new direction for the next EP awaits, and with it maybe some more countries where we represent the Indian indie scene.”
